Every event on this site carries the official source it was checked against, and the date of that check is printed on its page. When an organiser has not published dates for the next edition, we say so: the record is labelled a tentative date, built from the previous edition or tradition, and it is labelled as a tentative date wherever it appears. We use the same approach on Japan What's On, Thailand What's On, Hong Kong Happenings, Taiwan What's On and Macau What's On.
We check each event against its official source before publishing and re-check it on a rolling basis; the latest check date is printed on the event page.
The organiser has not published dates for the next edition yet. The window is built from the previous edition or from tradition, and it is labelled everywhere it appears. It is a planning guide, not a confirmed date: check the official source before booking travel around it.
We do not sell tickets ourselves. Where an event or attraction can be booked, its page carries a button to the seller. Where a booking link earns us commission, the button says so, and the price you pay is set by the seller and is the same whether or not you use our link. That commission is what keeps this site going: it helps cover the work of checking every date and keeping the calendar up to date, at no extra cost to you.
December to February for most trips: the coolest, driest weeks, with the January fiestas (Sinulog, Ati-Atihan, Dinagyang) and the tail of the Christmas season in the same window. March to May is hot and dry, beach and concert season. June to November is the rainy season, when the calendar moves indoors and outdoor dates need the tentative labels taken seriously.
Sinulog is held in Cebu City on the third Sunday of January, with a week of processions, masses and street parties around the fluvial procession and the grand parade. The dates for the next edition are on the event page, checked against the official source.
The letter is one email at the start of each month: what is on next month, which expected dates have just been confirmed, and the festivals worth building a trip around while hotels are still bookable.
