Why Cebu, why this arena
The Philippines is a basketball country in a way few others are, and Cebu is its second basketball city: the game is the default sport in every barangay, and a home continental championship is a genuine national occasion. The SM Seaside arena, in the South Road Properties on the Cebu City waterfront, is the country's newest big indoor venue, built for exactly this: a full week of double-headers with the crowd close to the court.
