New Year's Eve in Metro Manila: the Grand Countdown and the city at midnight
Metro Manila sees the year out two ways: the full hotel countdown, with dinner and a ballroom, and the concert hall, with the music doing the work. Newport World Resorts' Grand Countdown in Pasay and Solaire's VOIC3S in Parañaque are the two confirmed anchors of 31 December 2026. How each night works, and how to base yourself for them.

Metro Manila's New Year's Eve runs on hotel countdown parties and concert specials rather than one civic fireworks show, and two of them are already confirmed for 31 December 2026, a short drive apart along the bay: the Grand Countdown to 2027 in Pasay and VOIC3S in Parañaque.
The Grand Countdown: the full hotel version
Newport World Resorts' signature New Year's Eve celebration takes over the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay: live OPM performances, festive dining and giveaways, wrapped around the midnight moment. It is the country's largest hotel ballroom, inside a resort complex that sits directly across from NAIA Terminal 3 and holds five international hotel brands in one address, from the Marriott itself to the Holiday Inn Express. That geography is the practical point: book the countdown and a room in the same complex and the night becomes a lift ride, in a city where crossing town after midnight on 31 December is the worst version of Manila traffic. Newport's own announcement lists the party as the closing act of its 2026 season.
VOIC3S: the concert version
Over in Entertainment City, Parañaque, The Theatre at Solaire answers with voices rather than a ballroom: Martin Nievera, Jed Madela and Sofronio Vasquez share one stage from 9pm for VOIC3S: A New Year's Eve Special. The Theatre seats 1,851, which makes this the intimate option by Manila standards: a concert first, in a room built for listening, with the resort's own midnight around it afterwards. If your New Year's Eve is about the singing, this is the one to book, and Solaire's theatre tickets sell through the resort's official channels.
The season's other bookend
Three weeks earlier, on 12 December, Newport hosts the season's most Filipino concert booking: Jose Mari Chan: A Christmas with the OPM Icons at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Chan's voice is the sound of the Philippine Christmas season, and this date is the traditionalist's pick of December. Basing yourself for the night
Both anchors sit on the same stretch of the bay, in Pasay and Parañaque, which simplifies the stay: the bay area districts on the hotels page put you within a short ride of either, and a room in Newport City or at Solaire itself removes the ride entirely. Book the party and the room together, and early: countdown packages sell as a pair through November and December. And keep the morning after empty. Whichever way you see the year in, Metro Manila on 1 January starts late.
