Luggage

Put the bag down. Enjoy the event.

A suitcase is dead weight at a festival, a match or a gig. Manila's storage landscape is thinner than the ones this site describes for Japan or Hong Kong, and this page says so plainly: one staffed left luggage counter at the airport, no public luggage locker network at the rail stations, self-storage lockers that suit longer stays, your hotel, and booked storage in shops across the city through Bounce. Here is how each one works and what it costs.

The Manila landscape, honestly

Start with what Manila does not have. There is no row of coin lockers waiting at the rail stations, and no station left luggage office to book: Metro Manila's rail operators publish no traveller luggage locker network, and the one locker system the LRT-1 operator has publicised, PopBox, announced with Airspeed in 2023 for all 20 LRT-1 stations, is a parcel locker system for collecting e-commerce packages, not a place to leave a suitcase. We also could not source a mall left luggage service from any mall operator's own pages, so none is listed here. What Manila does have is a proper staffed counter at the airport, self-storage lockers that work for longer stays, hotels, and Bounce.

At the airport: Luggage & More at Terminal 3

The airport option is Luggage & More, the storage facility run by ProtectaBag at NAIA Terminal 3. Its own store locations page puts the facility in the Arrival Area, South Wing, operating 24 hours daily. It is a manned, over the counter facility, with 24-hour CCTV coverage and a dedicated secure left luggage storage area, so you hand the bag to staff and collect it against your ticket rather than working a locker yourself.

The operator's published rates: small or large baggage costs ₱350 per day, or ₱200 for the first four hours; check-in bags, boxes, trolleys, surf boards, golf bags, backpacks and briefcases cost ₱200 per four hours; weekly storage is ₱1,800 per bag for seven days and monthly storage is ₱6,500 per bag for one month. Someone else can collect your bag if they present the original ticket you were given when you deposited it; if you lose the ticket, expect a fee, identification and a description of the contents. Keep your passport, money, medicine and anything you need that day on you, and if your flight uses another terminal, remember the counter is at Terminal 3 and plan the trip back to it.

Lockers for longer stays: Loc&Stor 24/7

For days or weeks rather than hours, the locker option is self-storage. Loc&Stor 24/7, a secure self-storage operator, offers sizes from a 0.9 sqm Jr. Locker up to large units, with 24/7 access to your unit, even on holidays, without an appointment. Its facilities are in Pasig, Urban Makati, JP Rizal Makati, North EDSA, Sucat and Newport City in Pasay, the last of those on the airport side of the metro at 81 Newport Boulevard. Rates are monthly and set by unit size, floor and facility, quoted by its storage specialists, so this suits a long gap between trips or a season in the city, not an afternoon at a concert.

Your hotel: the common fallback

The fallback most event trips actually run on is the hotel. Ask at reception, ideally before you arrive, about holding your bags before check-in and after check-out on the day of the event, and confirm where they will be kept and until what time. It costs nothing to ask, it puts the bag in the district you are sleeping in rather than back at the airport, and for a morning arrival with an evening show it is usually the simplest pair of hands in the city.

Bounce: booked storage in shops across the city

Bounce is the app-based option: local shops and hotels take your bag behind the counter, you book and pay in advance through its app or website, or on the spot, and its Manila page lists 21 storage spots across the city, from US$1.80 per bag per day. Bookings can be cancelled free of charge, Bounce puts no size or quantity limit on bags, and every booking carries $10,000 of protection for your belongings. It is the flexible choice when the event is nowhere near the airport, which in Manila is most events.
